Willow River State Park Campground Expansion

« Return to Project Search

Willow River State Park is a popular camping and day-use facility near Hudson, Wisconsin. The Wisconsin Department of Administration, Division of Facilities Development and Management, retained Ayres to design a new park entrance visitor station and a new 85-unit family campground to expand the park’s camping facilities. The family campground project included designing a toilet/shower facility, a toilet building, and two vault toilets. The 1,450-square-foot park entrance and visitor station offers improved service to the public, better control of park visitors, and more space for staff.

Services included agency coordination, site design, road design, landscape architecture, stormwater management, design of three wells and well pumps, design of wastewater treatment systems for each building, and bidding and construction assistance. During construction, the existing visitor center remained in operation, allowing continuous service to the public.
