Timnath Master Drainage Plan Update

« Return to Project Search

The Town of Timnath hired Ayres to update its master drainage plan. The project’s goal was to convert the Town’s existing condition master plan ModSWMM model to EPA SWMM 5.0.022. The ModSWMM program is no longer technically supported and has been difficult for Town staff to continue to administer.

Since the 2005 master plan was completed, the Town has grown, and several new developments have been built. These new developments needed to be added into the master plan and updated in the models. Improvements upstream of the Town have been made to eliminate a spill from Box Elder Creek, eliminating a large floodplain that ran through the Town. This also needed to be reflected in the new modeling.

Lastly, the Timnath Reservoir inlet and outlet canals (TRIC and TROC) needed to be modeled to verify the capacity of the canals and analyze impacts posed by the growth of the community and surrounding developments.
