University of South Florida Tampa Marshall Center Demolition & Expansion

« Return to Project Search

We teamed with contractor Beck and architect Gould Evans to provide design-build services for demolition of the existing Special Events Center and Marshall Center on the University of South Florida campus to make room for the expanded new Marshall Center. Our staff performed preliminary engineering services, including background investigation, site reconnaissance, pre-application meetings with regulatory agencies, and the preparation of a conceptual plan. Services included demolition and utility relocation for the Special Event Center and Marshall Building in two phases; general civil engineering services including site development, technical specifications, utility design, roadway design with associated signage and pavement marking plan; ERP permit services; construction services; and post construction record drawings and certifications.

Our team subsequently was contracted to prepare a conceptual design, feasibility study, and programming analysis for an approximately 22,000-square-foot addition to the northwest corner of the University of South Florida’s Marshall Center over the loading dock area at the 3rd and 4th floors. The effects on the existing facility and the adjacent spaces were examined, and our team sought efficient use and allocation of space, including planning for moving some functions within the existing building to the new space. The analysis included three rendering views of developed concepts, engineering analysis, and cost analysis.
