Clearwater Boat Ramp and Seawall Improvements

« Return to Project Search

The City of Clearwater retained Ayres to provide structural design, plans preparation, hydraulic modeling, wave analysis, and permitting services for replacing the Clearwater Beach Recreational Center Boat Ramp. Ayres helped the City secure a Florida Boating Improvement Program grant of $565,699 to cover some of the project costs.

Ayres provided construction engineering and inspection services, and during construction it was noted that the seawall sheetpiles around the ramp had minimum embedment below the mudline, and the tiebacks were corroded. Ayres quickly designed a tieback system to repair the seawall, enabling the City to have the already mobilized contractor do the work.
