Hayward 2nd Street to Dakota Avenue Storm Sewer Improvements

« Return to Project Search

The City of Hayward chose Ayres to design the replacement and rerouting of the storm sewer line running between 2nd Street and Dakota Avenue. Before replacement, the sewer ran under a tavern, and leaking in the aging pipes caused flooding in the tavern during rain events. Ayres prepared a Community Development Block Grant – Public Facilities (CDBG-PF) application to assist with funding for the project.

Services included providing topographic design survey and drafting for the storm sewer replacement route, designing approximately 750 linear feet of storm sewer and associated roadway restoration, meetings, preparation of final construction plans and probable cost, assistance with submitting the CDBG-PF grant application, bidding phase services, and construction phase services.
