Kewaunee River Wall & Harbor Park Improvements

« Return to Project Search

The City of Kewaunee hired Ayres to provide preliminary design services for the Kewaunee River sea wall and Harbor Park’s boardwalk, parking lot, and associated amenities.

Restoration of the Kewaunee River shoreline will be designed in accordance with the input of stakeholders. The proposed work includes removing the sea wall and replacing it with an anchored sheet pile wall. Harbor Park improvements are expected to include approximately 1,350 feet of boardwalk leading out to the lighthouse, along with six fishing platforms, pedestrian lighting, parking lot improvements, and associated landscaping.

By fusing multiple data collection methods (remote sensing, HD scanning, and traditional survey) Ayres was able to very precisely document the existing conditions of the entire project area in 3D, including the harbor bottom and associated wall. The use of HD scanning will enable planners and design staff to effectively integrate new design elements into the backdrop of the existing landscape and built environment. Please see Media tab on this project for videos compiled from HD scans.
