Clintonville Dam Repairs

« Return to Project Search

The Clintonville Dam had severely deteriorated concrete surfaces that were previously repaired with an unreinforced shotcrete overlay and three tainter gates that were difficult to operate and deice each spring. The City of Clintonville retained Ayres to prepare design documents and grant applications for submittal to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (WDNR), and Ayres provided limited construction administration services.

The final design included three vertical lift slide gates with electric screw actuators, replacement of the overflow spillway pier, removal/replacement of the left approach wall, and replacement of the left abutment wall. The WDNR grant application was approved, and the state’s cost share was $236,000. Construction was completed for $484,000.
