Middleton Pheasant Branch Corridor Trail

« Return to Project Search

Our team has been involved in the protection, preservation, expansion, and development of the City of Middleton’s Pheasant Branch Conservancy for many years. Projects have included restoration of stream banks, development of trail systems, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) upgrades, grant procurement and administration, and master planning.

The City, Dane County, and the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources all own portions of the conservancy, which features natural springs and seeps, oak savannas, lowland forests, prairies, wetlands, and an abundance of wildlife, including migratory birds.

In the latest addition to the conservancy, our team provided the City with a comprehensive project establishing a multi-use trail system, bird watching stations, interpretive signage, education pods, natural habitat creation, invasive plant eradication, and stream bank restoration for the corridor.

Development of this project followed the Wisconsin Department of Transportation Sponsor’s Guide to Non-Traditional Transportation Project Implementation.

The project received a 2007 Park Design Award of Merit from the Wisconsin Parks and Recreation Association.
