Boulder Timber Complex Groundwater Study & Design

« Return to Project Search

Ayres partnered with The John Buck Company to manage groundwater for the Timber Complex within the S’PARK Development in Boulder, providing services from site sampling through construction support. Ayres supervised groundwater monitoring well installation and performed groundwater quality testing and in-situ slug testing to determine groundwater hydraulic conductivity.

The team used the results to develop a PLASM groundwater model to determine groundwater inflow rates. Using modeling results, Ayres provided recommendations for temporary construction dewatering and designed a permanent underdrain system including construction drawings and technical specifications. Underdrain system design included system configuration and drain pipe and pump sizing. Ayres also performed construction support, including site visits, construction water quality testing, plan revisions, and question review.

Problem solving, communication, and collaboration served as keys to the success of this project. Ayres’ exceptional modeling experience and hands-on design approach allowed the project team to develop a groundwater management plan and design approach to provide a solution that is safe and sustainable for years to come.
