Winnebago CTH T Reconstruction and Roundabout

« Return to Project Search

Winnebago County retained Ayres to design the reconstruction of 4.25 miles of CTH T. Included in the design was a 0.25-mile segment of four-lane roadway, a 0.5-mile urban section, and a 3.5-mile rural section.

Ayres also completed a feasibility study for two roundabouts to improve traffic flow in the rural section, using RODEL software to analyze the length of the splitter islands and the size of the inscribed circle. AutoTURN software was used to look at truck-turning movements, and our staff evaluated the fast-path for each roundabout.

After the study, Winnebago County directed Ayres to design one roundabout as part of the project. Other services included topographic survey, preliminary and final roadway plans, a right-of-way plat, specifications, bidding documents, and construction observation. The project involved coordination with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation on a nearby interchange project.
