I have more than 40 years of experience in surface and groundwater hydrology and hydraulics. I have managed a wide range of projects and am experienced in developing drainage master plans, drainage planning, and floodplain studies. I have conducted studies for municipalities, counties, and state and federal agencies, including the Colorado Water Conservation Board and the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
I have supervised the design and construction of drainage and flood control projects, dams, stormwater detention facilities, and site development projects. I have experience on numerous design projects for dams, roads, and utilities. This experience ranges from initial field investigations through all phases of design, including construction management. I have worked on research projects in remote sensing of snowpack and soil moisture and have conducted computer simulations of water distribution systems, groundwater aquifers, and surface water hydrology.
I received an Instructor of Excellence award from the National Highway Institute (NHI) for my teaching in fiscal 2019.
