La Crosse County St. Joseph Satellite Shop
« Return to Project SearchThe La Crosse County Highway Department retained Ayres to perform design, contract administration, and construction administration services associated with its new satellite highway shop near St. Joseph’s Ridge.
The new highway shop includes interior parking spaces for 10 to 12 large quad-axle vehicles with implements, as well as a break room, two unisex restrooms, open locker area, storage mezzanine, brine storage tanks, automated truck wash, generator, compressed air, in-floor heat in heated areas, brine-mixing area, salt storage shed, fuel Island, and above-grade truck scale.
Ayres provided structural and civil engineering design services for the 21,000-square-foot building and 28-acre site. Structural design services included foundations for the pre-engineered metal building, precast concrete skirt wall, brine storage tanks, and truck scale, as well as specification requirements and construction review for the pre-engineered metal building and salt storage shed.
Civil design services included topographic survey, site grading, stormwater and drainage design, fencing with automatic entrance gate, covered storage for equipment and asphalt patch, block heater outlets, material storage pile areas, access drive turn lanes, bypass lanes on STH 33, wetland delineation, and evaluation of the feasibility of water and sewer versus well and septic to service the facility .
