Langlade CTH C Bridges

« Return to Project Search

Langlade County retained Ayres to design three bridge replacements on CTH C. The County packaged the projects to reduce construction mobilization costs. Approximately 260 feet of approach work was completed for each bridge. Services included survey; hydraulics; environmental documentation; preliminary bridge and roadway plans; and final bridge and roadway plans, specifications, and estimates.

The bridge over Lloyd Creek is a 42-foot-long single-span concrete flat slab on sill-type (A1) abutments. The bridge over McCloud Creek is a 48-foot-long single-span concrete flat slab on sill-type (A1) abutments. The bridge over Pratt Creek is a 48-foot-long single-span concrete flat slab on sill-type (A1) abutments.

The abutment height on CTH C over McCloud Creek was increased 1 foot to match the span length of the bridge over Pratt Creek. Using the same span length on two bridges streamlined the project and saved the County money on the design and materials, and it eliminated the need to add a pier.
