The Division of Recreation and Parks of the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) retained Ayres to provide design and details for the replacement of the superstructure prestressed slab units and repairs for the concrete substructure of the pedestrian bridge at Jack Island State Park near Fort Pierce in St. Lucie County.

Based on a field inspection of the existing structural conditions and a concept evaluation providing alternative recommendations, FDEP selected an alternative, and Ayres proceeded with the development of plans for bidding and construction and also provided services during construction.
