« Return to Project Search

The Northwest Region of the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) selected Ayres to provide the design of non-structural aspects of the replacement of the Water Street bridge over the Chippewa River near the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.

The design of the bridge and approaches incorporated aesthetic features consistent with the adjacent historic district, Owen Park, the river setting, and the community theme for the project area. Bicycle and pedestrian accommodations were provided in accordance with Trans 75 rules. WisDOT staff completed the structural engineering.

Ayres provided a traffic control plan and work zone Transportation Management Plan; bridge lighting design; approach design; landscaping plan; environmental document; design study report; transportation parcel plat; hydraulic survey; structure survey reports (for structure design by WisDOT); coordination with WisDOT’s bridge office; and plans, specifications, and estimates (PS&E).
