The Sheboygan County Highway Department retained Ayres to provide design and specifications for upgrading 2 miles of CTH J. The purpose of the project was to upgrade the roadway cross section and vertical curves to current highway standards and improve drainage. The project involved reconstructing the roadway with 12-foot lanes and 6-foot gravel shoulders, upgrading the ditching to accommodate the wider roadway, and upgrading the intersections.

Funding for construction of the project is though the federal Surface Transportation Rural Program (STP-Rural).

Ayres’ services included topographic survey; reports; environmental documentation; agency coordination; utility coordination; preliminary and final roadway design; and plans, specifications, and estimate documents.
