US 36 Big Thompson River Wall Hydraulic Design & SUE« Return to Project Search
The Colorado Department of Transportation, Region 4, hired Ayres to provide hydraulic design and subsurface utility engineering (SUE) services for a proposed wall embankment to be installed between US 36 and the Big Thompson River in Estes Park in Larimer County, Colorado.
All four quality levels of SUE services were performed to discover what utilities may be in conflict with the proposed wall. Ayres designated (Quality Level B) multiple utilities in this area, which included performing two test hole excavations (Quality Level A) on a 4-inch Xcel Energy gas main that has been determined to be in conflict with the proposed wall. Ayres also is providing hydraulic design for the proposed wall.
