Manager of structural engineering Dan SydowDan Sydow, PE, has been promoted to manager of structural engineering, taking the reins from Dave Pantzlaff, PE, who has been promoted to director of Midwest transportation services.

In his nearly 20-year career at Ayres, Sydow says he has enjoyed the challenges along his path to this opportunity to manage Ayres’ talented structural engineers. Sydow is based in Eau Claire.

Sydow’s project responsibilities include project management and engineering for highway and pedestrian bridges, buildings, dams, retaining walls, tunnels, existing structure assessments and renovations, and structural repairs.

He has designed hundreds of bridge replacements and rehabilitations in 10 states and in nearly all of Wisconsin’s 72 counties. His building experience includes a variety education, office, industrial, government, residential, recreational, fleet maintenance, and public utility facilities.

“Dan’s attention to detail and his attentiveness to the differing needs of each client has produced projects that last,” says Eric Sorensen, PE, vice president of transportation. “Just as importantly, those projects are responsive to the specific needs of the client. I look forward to the structures group’s continued ability to wow our clients.”

Sydow holds professional engineer registrations in Wisconsin, Illinois, and Minnesota. He holds a bachelor’s degree in civil and environmental engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He’s a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, the American Public Works Association, and the Society of American Military Engineers.
