Sue Leith Staff Portrait.Sue Leith, PG, CPSM, Ayres’ marketing director, has been elected to the American Council of Engineering Companies of Wisconsin Board of Directors. Her one-year board term is just the latest in her approximately decade-long involvement in ACEC Wisconsin. Leith is based in Eau Claire.

ACEC of Wisconsin presented its 2020 Chair’s Award to Leith in recognition of her leadership and reinvigoration of the organization’s Public Relations Committee, which Leith led from 2017 to 2019.

That committee led the redesign of the organization’s website, launched a blog program, executed social media posts, and produced fact sheets informing legislators about the value of ACEC Wisconsin and its member engineering firms. Leith and the committee spearheaded a rebranding initiative that showcased the ways professional engineers impact our daily lives.

Leith also served recently on the Diversity and Inclusion Committee and was a member of the Strategic Plan Task Force, and she is beginning a term on the Transportation Steering Committee.

Leith noted ACEC Wisconsin is working with a facilitator to update its five-year strategic plan. Among the key items she looks forward to in the coming year on the board, Leith emphasized federal infrastructure funding and support from the state legislature for public works projects. She also will be looking for ways to promote STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) careers, including increasing the diversity of our future engineers.

Leith, who has been with Ayres for nearly 32 years, is a registered professional geologist in Wisconsin and is a certified professional services marketer. She holds a Master of Business Administration in marketing from Globe University, a Bachelor of Science in geology from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls, and an associate’s degree in marketing from Chippewa Valley Technical College.
