The Colorado Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) law, Senate Bill 18-167, passed in 2018 due to an increase in damage to utility lines. The law is intended to better protect Colorado community infrastructure and improve public security and safety.
It’s important to note that under this law, the average costs of SUE work has the potential to increase to a major portion of any project.
