US 41/STH 29 Interchange Construction Observation

Ayres provided construction observation services for Phase 1 of the complete reconstruction of the STH 29/US 41 interchange in Brown County, resulting in a free-flowing interchange.

The project consisted of early fills for the structures; stormwater detention ponds; 189 miles of strip drains; 10 bridges, including prestressed concrete girders and steel tub girders; four box culverts; 19 retaining walls; one noise wall; a new frontage road (CTH RK) along STH 29; roundabout construction; street lighting; storm sewer; plantings; a wetland mitigation site; a new entrance and electronic gate into Pamperin Park; mainline transportation management plan work; and a railroad spur.

Special aesthetic features included numerous architectural surface treatments on the structures, retaining walls, and sound wall, along with Native American themed decor celebrating the history of the Oneida Nation and Winnebago Tribes.
