After receiving a $6.5 million donation from SC Johnson for the first aquatic center in Racine County, Wisconsin, the County came directly to Ayres, selecting the firm to lead the design process.
Amenities at the aquatic center include an eight-lane lap pool, an activity pool, water slides, a water play structure, spray feature, climbing walls, and zero-depth entry pool for young children. The design also includes a 4,500-square-foot building with changing rooms, concession stand, and shaded lounge areas.
The Ayres-led design team guided the development of the aquatic center from site analysis through concept development, design development, construction drawings, and construction administration.
The SC Johnson Community Aquatic Center opened to the public on June 2, 2018.
