Gresham School District hired Ayres to provide referendum planning and design services for the Gresham School addition and renovation. The 20,300-square-foot addition and 5,500-square-foot renovation is an $8 million upgrade to the current facility and will be completed in two phases. This wing will house the middle and high school students and feature a new common cafeteria and kitchen that will serve those grades and the elementary students who are in this same school.
While the successful referendum planning took over a year, the plans for the project were completed in less than 10 weeks to accommodate the District’s schedule and to begin construction by the start of summer in 2019. Ayres provided an existing building study, referendum planning, public involvement meetings, architectural and interior design, structural and civil engineering, and survey services.
