This project involved providing engineering services for the Capri Isle 16-inch and 24-inch water main replacements in Pinellas County. The project design limits were north from Capri Circle South to the subaqueous crossing for an approximate length of 2,700 linear feet. The improvements included piping, valves, air releases, blow-offs, service lines, service boxes, master meters, and appurtenances to replace each water main in the area.
Services provided included hydraulic analysis, construction plans and specifications, cost estimating, land survey, environmental permitting, geotechnical, utility coordination, public information coordination, construction observation, subsurface utility engineering (SUE), and as-built certification. Additional work comprised addressing changes in the full construction documents such as allowance for cutting the high-density polyethylene (HDPE) and installing ductile iron fittings in lieu of tapping connections and redesign of all maintenance-of-traffic/construction phasing drawings.
