Matt Ashby, AICP CUD, is an urban planner with Ayres. Matt’s eye for innovation has been recognized by his peers, with project accolades including an American Planning Association’s Daniel Burnham Award for Cheyenne MPO’s PlanCheyenne. Educated at the University of Colorado, Matt holds dual master’s degrees in urban design and urban and regional planning, as well as planning and urban design certifications from the American Institute of Certified Planners. No stranger to public service, Matt values volunteerism, serving on the Wyoming Main Street Advisory Board and the Western Planning Resources Board of Directors. He is co-chairman of the United Way of Laramie County’s annual fundraising campaign.
Michael Moule, PE, PTOE, has served as the chief engineer for the County of Kauai since February 2014. Prior to his current position with the County, he spent 12 years working as a consulting civil and transportation engineer, 3 years as the city traffic engineer for Asheville, NC, and 6 years at the start of his career as a transportation engineer for the Oregon Department of Transportation. He continues to consult part time, bringing his nationally known expertise in Complete Streets to communities around the country. Michael’s projects accommodate all modes of transportation in order to help communities meet their mobility, economic development, safety, environmental, and quality of life goals.
Jeffrey Siewert, PE, is a senior project manager in Ayres’ Southeast Division transportation group. His project management and design experience includes Florida Department of Transportation Local Agency Program designs for multimodal/complete streets projects. His municipal project experience includes roadway, sidewalk, trail, stormwater, and streetscape design. He has managed master planning initiatives promoting pedestrian-focused transportation and community regrowth.
Chris Silewski, PLA, is a landscape architect with Ayres. Over the past 10 years, he has focused on creating dynamic, place-specific designs that incorporate a sense of wonder. His innate interests in community outreach, local typology, art, ecology, and regional design make him a valuable resource to any project aimed at engaging the public in creating a place-specific destination. This creative approach is balanced by his priority of analyzing existing conditions and discovering how a site’s assets can accentuate and dovetail with the project goals and objectives.
Jeff Speck is a city planner and urban designer who advocates internationally for more walkable cities. As director of design at the National Endowment for the Arts from 2003 through 2007, he presided over the Mayors’ Institute on City Design and created the Governors’ Institute on Community Design. Prior to his federal appointment, Jeff spent 10 years as director of town planning at DPZ & Co., the principal firm behind the New Urbanism movement. Since 2007, he has led Speck & Associates, a private design consultancy. He is the co-author of Suburban Nation and author of Walkable City and Walkable City Rules.
Robert Steuteville is senior communications advisor for CNU, editor of Public Square, A CNU Journal, and he has written on New Urbanism and walkable street networks for 25 years. He is coauthor of CNU’s Freeways Without Futures reports for 2019 and 2017. He wrote the case studies for ITE’s 2017 publication, Implementing Context Sensitive Design on Multimodal Thoroughfares: A Practitioner’s Handbook.
Disa Wahlstrand, PE, Ayres’ municipal services and water resources operations in Wisconsin. Since joining Ayres in 1995, she has led projects for municipal, institutional, and commercial clients, frequently involving large teams, broad stakeholder groups, and a critical public involvement processes. She also serves her local community as Vice President of Downtown Eau Claire Inc (DECI) which seeks to keep Downtown moving forward and growing.
Jan Zander, PE, is executive vice president of Ayres. He began his career with Ayres in 1990 as a structural engineer and today oversees Ayres’ transportation services nationally. Jan holds a bachelor’s degree in civil/structural engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville and a master of business administration degree from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire (University of Wisconsin MBA Consortium). He is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and the American Council of Engineering Companies.
