Water Resources Engineer/Project Manager #1934

Ayres Associates has been serving U.S. dam owners and communities for 60 years. With offices in the Midwest, West, and Southeast, Ayres offers growth potential for the right candidate. We are looking for you – an engineer with passion for improving the places we live, work, and play. We have an exciting career opportunity for a 5- to 15-year water resources engineer to join the team in our Eau Claire, WI, office. You will join a strong technical staff to lead design efforts on both public and private client projects. If you are looking for a challenge and opportunities for growth, apply today.


Job Responsibilities
  • Work with public and private clients for various civil/water resources projects.
  • Design hydraulic structures, perform hydraulic modeling and structural design, and inspect dams.
  • Participate in client management and business development.
  • Prepare project scopes, budgets and man-hour estimates; coordinate multidisciplinary teams to execute projects; participate in the QA/QC process; participate in proposal preparation and presentations as well as other project management responsibilities.


Required Qualifications
  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering with an emphasis in water resources with 5 to 15 years of related engineering experience.
  • Registration as a professional engineer in Wisconsin (or ability to be registered within six months).


Desired Skills and Experiences
  • Experience working with the hydropower industry and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) for permitting and inspection of dams.
  • Experience with engineering and project management, including hydraulic and hydrologic computations, design for hydraulic structures, and other related designs.
