Tampa Tough Mudders Help Support Our Veterans

DSCN0175Think you’re tough? Several of our Tampa staffers decided to answer that question in a very tangible way on November 8.

Bridge inspectors James Rozar, Taras Kotsyuba, and Ben Schaefer and transportation engineer Jason Rosacia tested their stamina (and tolerance for mud, ice, electric shocks, and more) at the Central Florida Tough Mudder in Kissimmee. (The photo above shows them pre-race, from left, James, Taras, Jason, and Ben.) With 10 miles of obstacles to navigate – like Arctic Enema, Kiss of Mud, Walk the Plank, and Electroshock Therapy – who wouldn’t have fun?

The rewards are many: an orange headband, beer, and bragging rights. (The photo below shows our team post-race.) But the best reward is the financial support and awareness this event and others around the country bring to the Wounded Warrior Project. Tough Mudder participants have raised approximately $6 million to support the project, which offers combat stress recovery programs, adaptive sports programs, benefits counseling, and employment services.

On this Veterans Day, Ayres Associates salutes all those who have served, including our own James Rozar, an Army veteran. Thank you for your service!
