The owners of Oakwood Business Park, LLC, wanted to open an upscale "lifestyle center"-type retail facility in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, the retail hub of west central Wisconsin. However, all the land surrounding the mall that could easily be developed had already been developed. In the absence of a flat piece of land on which to build, developers looked to a steep hillside to the south of the mall.

Ayres Associates was involved in all facets of this project from site development to designing the building to bidding out the project and overseeing construction. The
21,000-square-foot building includes four sections with different finished floor elevations, allowing stormwater runoff from the hill above the building to be directed around the building and through pipes beneath the parking lot and into the City's storm sewer system.
