American Family Insurance was founded in 1927 in Madison, Wisconsin, and today is the 11th largest property/casualty insurer in the United States. Along with this growth, however, came the need for American Family to expand its facilities – needing to more than double in size.

The company located and purchased nearly 800 undeveloped acres in Madison. The first project was an 800,000-square-foot headquarters. With completion expected in 2012, the finished park will contain more than 3 million square feet of building area.

Ayres Associates has worked with American Family to develop the business park, providing survey and engineering services focused on platting, street and utility design, and construction observation. Ayres Associates also provides construction observation as streets and utilities are built.
