Yuma Avenue A Reconstruction

« Return to Project Search

Ayres Associates designed more than a mile of urban roadway reconstruction, a new bridge over the East Main Canal, nearly 20,000 square feet of new retaining wall, and three new traffic signals for the City of Yuma’s Avenue A.

The project involved a number of additional improvements, including a new connection to an existing multi-use pathway on the east side of the East Main Canal, a new water distribution system for the entire mile of roadway improvements, approximately 1 mile of sanitary sewer reconstruction, and stormwater conveyance and treatment facilities within the project.

Ayres also designed two cul-de-sacs and dozens of public and private driveways. The project included extensive coordination with APS, Southwest Gas, and the Yuma County Water Users Association to relocate electric power and gas facilities within the corridor.
