When the Diocese of La Crosse, Wisconsin, combined three small rural parishes into one, congregations for a time used all three churches at different times for religious services, education, and other events. Population growth in the area and a shortage of priests necessitated a larger, central facility.
Ayres Associates was retained to design a new Catholic church for the parish community. Ayres’ architectural design emphasizes function, flexibility, and beauty. The facility seats 360 people but is expandable to accommodate 600. A multipurpose portion of the building is used for education, wedding receptions, funerals, and fellowship functions such as Friday fish fries. A portion of the space is subdivided with accordion partitions to allow multiple uses.
