A previous traffic impact analysis examined the potential effects of developing a business park in a vacant parcel of the Meadow Creek Market area in the Village of Pewaukee. Later the Costco Wholesale Corporation proposed instead to develop the area for retail, requiring an updated TIA.
Ayres was retained to complete the analysis to reflect current traffic conditions, traffic impacts, and roadway access improvement needs related to the proposed development. As part of the TIA, Ayres completed a peak hour manual traffic turning movement count at three locations, gathered intersection sight distances at the site of a state highway and proposed access road into the development, defined roadway deficiencies within the study area and proposed improvements, and completed a traffic signal warrant analysis at the intersection of the state highway and proposed access road.
Because the proposed development is served by a state highway, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation was also involved in this project.
