Qualified candidates will have a bachelor’s degree in civil
engineering and at least ten years of experience in transportation
roadway design. Professional Engineer in Wisconsin preferred.
WisDOT freeway and interchange experience desired. Knowledge of
the WisDOT project development process and PS&E documents also
desirable. Beneficial experience includes proficiency with Civil
3D, InRoads, AutoCAD, MicroStation, Estimator and Trns.port
software programs. Experience with construction or design on
bridge and highway projects desirable. Valid driver’s license and
good driving record required.
Responsibilities will include acting as the technical lead
designer for various types of transportation projects and may
include project management (if qualified). Candidates with a
strong technical background wishing to be trained as project
managers for future major freeway projects are encouraged to
apply, as satisfactory performance in this position may lead to
opportunities for advancement. Projects will include major
freeway and interchange design projects as well as urban and rural
reconstruction projects. Responsibilities will include leading a
project design team to successful completion of assigned projects.
