candidate must be a Wisconsin registered professional engineer (or
have ability to become registered within 6 months) and have a
degree in Civil Engineering. Preference will be given to
candidates with an advanced degree. Position requires at least 10
years of combined successful experience in highway design, project
management, project marketing, and supervision/management of a
roadway design group. A minimum of 5 years of strong technical
background in roadway design, plan production experience and
transportation project management is required. WisDOT and
Wisconsin local government (cities and counties) transportation
project experience a plus. Should have knowledge and
understanding of design automation systems such as InRoads, CAiCE,
and MicroStation. The ideal candidate will have excellent people
skills, be a team player, self motivated, performance driven, and
have proven business development skills with a strong reputation
with clients. |
Successful candidate will be
expected to manage and run a profitable transportation design
group, perform project management duties for medium, large and
mega transportation projects, be actively involved in business
development and proposal preparation, and monitor and maintain
staff utilization, profitability, invoicing, etc. Duties will
also include preparation/negotiation of hourly estimates and fee
proposals and monitoring and maintaining quality project
deliverables on time and on budget. Responsible for preparing
group business plans, identifying staffing needs, annual budgets,
capital purchases, staff training and mentoring, client
satisfaction, and providing overall leadership and growth
strategies for the group. This position is responsible for
transportation staff in both the Madison and Waukesha offices and
as such, the assigned location can be in either office. However,
the responsibilities of this position will require the successful
candidate to be in both offices as appropriate. |
