Landscape Architect or Civil Site Engineer #1657

Ayres Associates’ Landscape Architecture group is currently seeking a well-connected and charismatic professional to join us – a professional with a passion for improving the places we live, work and play. The successful applicant will be instrumental in expanding our Landscape Architecture footprint in the southwest and specifically in our Phoenix, Arizona office.  You will join a strong professional team in a collaborative atmosphere to develop proposals and support design efforts on landscape architecture projects.  Your work will involve a variety of client and project types including land development or redevelopment projects, parks, trails and commercial site development.  If you are looking for a challenge and opportunities for growth, please apply.

 

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in landscape architecture or civil engineering
  • Professional registration
  • A minimum of ten years of progressive experience in parks, commercial site development and planning
  • An established local and regional client base and demonstrated ability to create and maintain working relationships with clients, funding partners and permitting agencies
  • Previous experience in site and landscape construction, construction administration and site investigations
  • Strong AutoCAD and graphic design/presentation skills including 3D modeling, proficiency in Sketchup, Adobe PhotoShop, Illustrator, Revit and Microsoft Office preferred.
  • Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively independently and with other team members in multiple offices
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record
  • Knowledge of applicable state and federal codes and standards related to civil improvement projects

 

Responsibilities:
  • Working with both private and public clients, collaborates with architects, landscape architects, surveyors, and engineers to help determine the best way to conserve or restore natural resources on streets and highways, waterfront improvements, parks and playgrounds and other projects
  • Directs and/or designs plans and analyzes project data
  • Prepares, coordinates and develops construction document packages and may perform site observation
  • Work will include analyzing project data; developing detailed plans of the site, sketches, models, photographs, land-use studies; researching, evaluating, and assisting with the selection materials and products
  • Prepares and monitors project budgets and responsible for project schedules and the timely completion of projects
  • Prepares permit applications and submittals
  • Participates in presentations, interviews, project and client meetings and develops proposals
  • Maintains and builds a client base
