The Geospatial Division of Ayres Associates is seeking candidates for a new Project Manager role at our Tampa (Benjamin Center), FL office. The Land Survey group within the Geospatial Division at Ayres desires to add this full-time Project Manager position to support the team with diverse project management responsibilities as the company prepares for continued growth in Florida. The successful candidate will have an active role in managing a wide range of geospatial projects and will help the team pursue opportunities with new clients and emerging markets.
Ayres Associates is an employee-owned multi-specialty architectural/engineering and geospatial service firm providing services from a network of 13 offices in five states. Land survey services are provided by an interconnected team of crew chiefs, technicians, professional surveyors, and project managers who are managed as a single group across numerous offices, bringing consistency and flexible resources to our employees and clients.
Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree in land surveying or other related discipline and hold an active Professional Surveyor and Mapper Florida license with a minimum of eight years of professional experience. Strong written and oral communication and organizational skills will be essential, as the successful applicant will frequently interact with a wide range of public and private clients. Candidates should anticipate occasional travel; a valid driver’s license and good driving record are required. Candidates must also demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.).

The Project Manager will report directly to the Manager of the Land Survey group and will be responsible for mentoring and supervising other geospatial staff in that office. The candidate will independently seek and develop new leads and opportunities as well as support ongoing business development efforts. The Project Manager will interact with staff from other professional disciplines at Ayres Associates and will frequently meet with clients. Another important responsibility of this position will be typical project management duties, which include estimation, documentation, progress reporting, accounting, and client maintenance. The Project Manager will also be the surveyor of record for geospatial services provided in Florida, being responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and providing oversight regularly. The candidate will adhere to OSHA and required safety practices.
