Civil/Site Engineer #1751

This position is an exciting career opportunity for an experienced civil engineer to join the Landscape Architecture design studio in our Madison, Wisconsin office. You will join a strong professional team in a collaborative atmosphere to develop proposals and support design efforts on municipal and private client projects. Your work will involve general site civil, including land development or redevelopment projects. Projects may include utilities, roads, water and sewer, stormwater management, parks and trails and site development.

 

Responsibilities:
  • Directs and/or designs plans, calculates and prepares engineering documents in accordance with the latest prevailing codes
  • Perform hydrologic and hydraulic calculations and stormwater management plans
  • Prepares and monitors project budgets and responsible for project schedules and the timely completion of projects
  • Work with both private and public clients for various site development and municipal projects
  • Participate in presentations, interviews, and project and client meetings
  • Prepare permit applications and submittals
  • May serve as a designated client contact

 

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering
  • Wisconsin Professional Engineer registration (or within six months)
  • Five to ten years of progressive experience designing municipal and land development projects
  • Proficient with AutoCAD Civil3D and Microsoft Office
  • Construction administration and site investigation experience
  • Hydrologic/hydraulic analysis and modeling experience
  • Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively independently and with other team members in multiple offices
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record
  • Knowledge of applicable state and federal codes and standards related to civil improvement projects
