Civil or Municipal Project Manager #1711

Ayres Associates’ Municipal Engineers have been serving Colorado communities for over 20 years. We are currently looking for you – an engineer with passion for improving the places we live, work and play.

We currently have an exciting career opportunity for an experienced civil engineer to join the civil/municipal practice in our Fort Collins, CO office. You will join a strong technical staff to manage projects, develop proposals and lead design efforts on municipal and private client projects. Qualifications Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Master’s degree in related field is desirable.
  • Colorado Professional Engineer registration
  • Certified Floodplain Manager certification desirable
  • At least 12 years of progressive experience completing and managing municipal projects
  • Experience overseeing design and construction projects for public sector clients
  • Experience developing clients and obtaining new work
  • AutoCAD Civil3D experience desired
  • Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to conduct effective client presentations
  • Ability to work effectively independently and with other team members in multiple offices
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record
  • Knowledge of applicable state and federal rules and regulations related to civil improvement projects

 

Responsibilities:
  • Design of municipal and civil engineering projects including storm water systems, trenchless rehabilitation, water supply and distribution, sanitary sewers, rivers and open channel systems, and other public infrastructure.
  • Manage project completion, financial performance, and lead design efforts on municipal and private client projects
  • Lead presentations and project meetings with the client and public
  • Scope and develop proposals, develop and maintain client relationships. This position will be expected to make a significant and ongoing contribution to group workload.
  • Develop technical staff in design and project management areas
  • Coordinate and oversee construction activities on various types of projects
  • Gather and analyze data on municipal projects and prepare reports, plans and specifications and cost estimates
  • Work with both private and public clients for various site development and municipal projects
