Ongoing Grant Programs (April 2007) | ||
The following grant programs have no submittal deadlines: Planning Grant: Grants available for up to $25,000 to assist communities with specific local and area-wide plans. Grants may be used for development plans, cost/benefit analysis, economic impact studies, and more. (Wisconsin Department of Commerce Planning Grant) Environmental Cleanup Grant: Grant funds available to assist local governments with assessing and remediating environmental contamination at abandoned or underused industrial or commercial sites. (Wisconsin Department of Commerce Blight Elimination and Brownfield Redevelopment Program) Public Utility Grants: Grants available for up to 50% of costs for improvements to water systems, sewerage systems, and roads. The project must benefit businesses that will in turn create jobs and invest in the community. (Wisconsin Department of Commerce Community Development Block Grant, Public Facilities for Economic Development) Grants available for up to 50% funding to revitalize, expand, and upgrade infrastructure to attract new industry, encourage business expansion, diversify local economics, and generate or retain long-term, private sector jobs. (U.S. Department of Commerce, Economic Development Administration) Provides up to 75% grant/loan or up to 100% loan to construct, improve, or modify municipal drinking water and wastewater systems, storm sewers, and solid waste disposal systems. (USDA-Rural Development, Water, and Wastewater Grant and Loan Program) Public Facility/Building Grant: Provides grants and low-interest loans to construct, enlarge, or improve community facilities for health care, public safety, and community and public services (USDA-Rural Development, Community Facilities Grant Program) Road, Rail, Harbor, and Airport Construction Grant: Provides up to 50% grant funding for projects related to creating jobs or retaining employees in Wisconsin.
